SLAM Soaps: The Ru Paul’s Drag Race of New Writing
23 January – 10 February 2018
Arcola Theatre, 24 Ashwin Street, E8 3DL London
Sort of like a night in front of the tele…
You’ve got the remote control, as usual. But this is real life. Real jeopardy. And there are five real writers a night, counting on your votes.
Five writers have ten minutes each to impress you.
They’ll each present you with the opening section of their next big thing.
They’re all good, we can assure you of that. But are they good enough to impress you the most? They’ll need to entertain your socks off, they’ll need to finish with a bang, they’ll need to make the drum line of EastEnders ring in your ears by the time they’re done. Because only TWO of them will make it through to part two. Those writers are voted for by YOU.
The winners will have the chance to present their part two, alongside three brand new contestants, the following night. Until the grand finale: where those who made it the furthest will go head to head. The WINNER will have their full play staged at the Arcola Theatre, on Saturday 10th of February.
